Ryslinge Folk High School is a project-oriented school and our philosophy is that you will come here with an idea for a project, and throughout your stay you will work and grow with that idea – both professionally and personally. A stay here is a journey from an idea or a dream towards a goal. No matter where you are in life, what you want, and where you wish to go, we will help you get there. The only requirement is that you have an idea for a project and the will to reach your aim.

Your project is individually defined – only you know exactly what your dreams are. At Ryslinge we believe that all people have something to offer. Our job is to provide you with the opportunity to realise your dreams. Maybe you want to write, or sing. Maybe you want to arrange a big concert or an art exhibition. Together we will make your ideas reality. We do not make projects for fun, but conceptualise, develop, and execute genuine, professional projects.

Your project

The principal focus at Ryslinge is project course The class covers project development and management, how to plan and schedule, financing, and market analysis as well as motivation training and workshops on the art of giving and receiving critique. The teaching is based on lectures as well as open dialogue between competent, highly skilled people, passionate about an idea and with much knowledge and experience.

Moreover, you will receive personal instruction on your project. Once or twice a week, you will meet up with your project supervisor, who will assist you in analysing, describing, and developing your project, help you with the planning of the project, and guide you through the process of executing your plan.

At Ryslinge, we also offer the following courses:

•Primary courses: Photography or the USA
•Music
•Arts
•Sports and the Outdoors
•Culture classes
Before or on your arrival you will choose a primary course (Photography or the USA). All classes at Ryslinge are taught in Danish and English, except the course on the USA, which is an international class, taught in English only. In other words, Danish skills are not required to attend the school.

Nice to know

•You can choose between courses of 8 or 19 weeks
•Most students stay at the school in the weekends, but trips home or elsewhere are ok
•All students will go on a study trip to one of Europe’s big cities
•Guests are welcome for shorter stays

◦Doubles ensuite: Dkr 1220/week
•The price includes tuition, room and board
•The price excludes the study trip of Dkr 2500

•Ryslinge Folk High School is situated on Fyn, only a short distance from the expressway between Odense and Svendborg

Who can apply?

We accept and welcome students of all nationalities.

The only requirements are sufficient English skills and a min. age of 17½ upon arrival.

Cirius scholarships:

For students from the new EU countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania), it is possible to apply for scholarships. Աշխարհի գայդեր և սկաուտներ մեկ անգամ ևս շնորհավոր "Մտորման օր"-ը:

Շնորհակալություն բոլոր այն խմբերին, որոնք մասնակցեցին մեր "Մտորման օրվա" միջոցառմանը: Այն շատ հետաքրքիր էր և բովանդակալից: Հուսով եմ, որ բոլոր մասնակիցմնրը նույնպես հաճույք ստացան հավաքից և նաև ծանոթացան տարբեր ազգերի մշակույթներին և խոհանոցներին:

Volunteer opportunities at Our Cabana

Role applying for: Progrmme Volunteer/ Proramme Assistant/ Event Administrator

All Volunteer opportunities at Our Cabana are open to active members of NUGGGS “Astgik” aged 18 and over. They suggest 6-9 week placements throughout the year depending on the season. Full Room and Board is provided at Our Cabana for the duration of the volunteer term as well as up to US$ 500 maximum towards the cost of the airfare (return, economy class). There is also pocket money of US$ 4 per day given mid way through the volunteer term.

Season applying for:

· Winter: September 25- November 30 2010 (10 weeks)

· Winter: December 20 2010 – February 25 2011 (10 weeks)

· Spring: February 26 –April 30 2011 (9 weeks)

· Summer: June 1-July 19 2011 (8 weeks)

· Summer: July 11- September 1 2011 (9 weeks)

· April 15^th: for applications that want to be consider for the autumn, winter and spring season.

· October 15^th: for applications that want to be consider for the following summer season.

The European Commission has officially announced that the final selection of the winning logo and slogan for the European Year of Volunteering 2011 has been postponed and will not take place until the New Year. We have been notified by the European Commission that the delay is due to a new Commission, likely to take office in late January 2010, as well as related internal structural changes. In the framework of these structural changes the Citizenship Policy unit that has been dealing with the preparation of the European Year will be moved to the Directorate-General Communication.
The finalists can be assured that an equivalent prize for the winners will be offered in 2010 and the finalists will be contacted directly by the services of the European Commission in charge of the selection.

World Thinking Day 2010

ԱՍԳԱՄ "Աստղիկ"-ը փետրվարի 21-ին նշում է Մտորման օրը (Thinking day): Օր, որ նշում են աշխարհի բոլոր աղջիկ սկաուտներն ու գայդերը, օր, որը նվիրված է ընկերությանը, համերաշխությանն և բարեկամությանն աշխարհի բոլոր ժողովուրդների միջև: Մենք նույնպես, որպես մաս այդ մեծ, միջազգային ընտանիքի այս տարի նշելու ենք այդ տոնը:

Այն խմբերին, որոնք ցանկանում են մասնակցել միջոցառմանն անհնարժեշտ է ընտրել որևէ երկիր ևներկայացնել այն միջոցառմանը: Ներայացման համար կարելի է օգտագործել այն ամենը, ինչ նպատակահարմար է գտնում խումբը: Յուրաքանչյուր խմբի համար պարտադիր պայմաններ են հանդիսանում այդ երկրին բնորոշ երկու ճաշատեսակների, որևէ ավանդույթի, երգի կամ պարի ներկայացումը միջոցառման մասնակիցների մասնակցությամբ: Ներկայացման ոճը, ձևը որոշում է ինքը խումբը :)

Միջոցառմանը կարող են մասնակցել նաև միավորման բարեկամները (անկախ սեռից), ինչպես իրենց խմբերով, այնպես էլ որպես հանդիսատես` ակտիվ մասնակցությամբ:
